MAPHRODITE offers two distinct products: a consumer iOS Application and a commercial API. These services operate independently.

1. The iOS App (Consumer)

The App is 100% Serverless. It does NOT connect to our API.

  • Local Calculation: The App contains its own embedded calculation engine (Swiss Ephemeris). All math happens on your phone's processor.
  • Zero Data Transmission: The birth data you enter into the App never leaves your device. It is not sent to our cloud, our API, or any third-party server.
  • Private Storage: Saved profiles are stored in the Apple Sandbox on your device. If you delete the app, this data is gone forever, because we do not have a copy.

2. The Maphrodite API (Commercial Partners)

The API is a separate B2B product used by travel agencies and lifestyle platforms. If you are an end-user of a partner platform using our API:

  • Stateless Processing: We receive birth coordinates, calculate planetary positions in RAM, and return the result. We immediately discard the input data.
  • No Database: We do not maintain a database of API requests or birth records.
  • Infrastructure: The API is hosted on Google Cloud Platform (Enterprise) and is isolated from the iOS App infrastructure.

3. Summary of Distinction

To be absolutely clear: Using the iOS App does not send your data to the API. The API exists solely for external commercial partners.
